In this presentation, our eminent speakers will brief about the use of RT-PCR assays for detecting COVID-19 patients. They will discuss various technical aspects and current challenges in laboratory approach to detect SARS-CoV-2 at early stage and identify the super-spreaders. Speakers will also share their findings deduced from COVID-19 patients, in terms of disease severity and virus shedding pattern.
Prof. Poon will highlight the strategy used for detecting or screening COVID-19 cases in Hong Kong. Prof. Berg will focus on relevant clinical aspects of COVID-19 infection of particular interest to the clinician. This will include the typical & atypical presenting signs and symptoms, clinical course, treatment, etc. References to the recent peer-reviewed literature in the area will be highlighted to give a holistic view of COVID-19 trends emerging across the globe.
